Greetings! Back at the end of June 2019 I got a new roof on my home and suddenly I thought I had fleas three exterminators guarantees to rid them I was told I have bird mites for free & give a liter of alcohol as he was honest enough to say I don’t know how to get rid of the. Now hundreds of scabs on me, OCD cleaning hired help as I’m handicapped I’m suffering in pain! The hospital accused me of being on Meth! But ran zero test and no cream to even help. I’m desperate! I think I’m near a nervous real down honestly from severe chronic pain now this! I have no one else to lean on. I can’t even sell the home this way but it’s spotless clean. I’ve managed to slow them down but not rid them. Onslaught pesticide has helped me. Rid them in areas. This week I plan to take the inside of the house with OnSlaught has anyone used this?

Hi there, I have tried Onslaught, in the car and in the home with and without an IGR with ok results at first, then the vultures got use to it.
Probably one of the most toxic chemicals that i have tried. Destroyed the interior of the car. I’m having better luck with a Fungal insectice that grows into the mite and kills them. Like Botaniguard. If you need more info, let me know. 3 years for me so far. Good luck.

Hi there, it’s a relatively new product designed to be used on a plantation to irradiate pests.
It was recommended for use by another mite forum with great results by lot’s of others in the same situation. It’s the only option that is allowing me to get precious sleep. Using it in a fogger in and outside of the house. It comes in the form of powder that you add to water. As it contains living organisms it requires certain conditions to keep the organisms alive to do their job. There Is YouTube clips on how it works.

Don’t make the same mistake as I made. Store it in a cool place, otherwise it doesn’t work as the organisms are dead after a 100 degree day.

All the other poisonous stuff just doesn’t do the job. Like Cislin, Crackdown, Insectigone, STEALTH, Nucidol, Py-Bo Pyrethrum and Tempo sc and Coopex or any Permethrin based options, even tho they have bird mite listed in their info. Keep me posted. From Paul.T

No I haven’t got rid of them yet. The last lot of Botanigard didn’t have the usual effect, but then I realised that I had inadvertently cooked my stock of Botanigard by exposing it to hot summer temperatures just recently (I’m in Australia). This stuff seems to work better than anything else I’ve tried in the last 3 years. Keeping in mind it kills only on contact. So if the beasts have a lot of places to hide, like carpet, then it’s difficult. The wife won’t let me remove the carpet,,,,yet. I’ve been relying on Botanigard to get sleep, in a bedroom without carpet. I have a new batch coming shortly so I’ll keep you posted.
Be aware that it takes quite a few hours for the Beauveria bassiana strain fungus to do it’s job. I’m also trying other options on this forum. Thank god for this forum. We’re not alone. I’ll be so glad when this nightmare is over. PT.

Recommended Treatment Provider

We recommend you use a licensed professional to address a bird mite problem. Don’t wait or the problem will get much worse and more expensive to treat. We have a list of pest control companies that are specifically qualified to treat bird mites.

  • They come to your house for no charge and give a free estimate.
  • Even if you decide not to use them, you get free professional advice.
  • Most pest control companies have never dealt with bird mites before. You need to use a bird mite specialist.

Follow this link to find a Qualified Local Exterminator near you.

Keep in mind that if bird mites are not treated correctly, even if the correct chemicals are used, they can become resistant to those chemicals. Don’t use a pest control company unless they have extensive experience treating bird mites.

Also, many of our readers have followed up with (or used outright) natural solutions and pesticide-free, such as on our Treatments Protocols page Follow this link to that page.
