I think I finally have these bastards on the run.

Throw out everything you can. It’s just stuff. None of it matters. Cover your floors in plastic. I’ve moved into a new house share and covered all of my floor in plastic (the hard floor carpet protector roll stuff they sell on Amazon). Cover your mattress in it as well. Wash sheets and bedding daily. I’m sleeping under blankets I can put in the washing machine for now. Wash your clothes daily. Hoover twice a day. Wash the floors down with diluted bleach. Spray everything with dettol. I’m also running a dehumidifier but I have no idea if it’s making a difference. Pesticides do not work don’t waste your money.

I’ve cut the bites down drastically and kept them off my legs by using roll on deodorant but I just can’t seem to get them out of my feet. They seem to be living in them. Also my hands but not as badly. I’ve tried the deodorant but it doesn’t work the same on your feet.

Does anyone know how to get them out of your feet and hands??

Hello I remember when they were living in my feet. Many of the posters on the Forum said the same thing. We all bought Wellington Boots from Walmart for $17 the rubber galoshes. They’re one piece rubber and we put two tablespoons of borax in the boot with a half a quart of water. We all soaked right after we got out of the shower we put on the wellingtons with the borax and water and it pulled all of the bugs out of our feet we had to do it twice a day for 60 days. 30 minutes after each shower 1 in the morning 1 in the night. And it worked nothing ever bit our feet while we walked around after a shower with our boots on because they could not b i t e through the rubber and if they got in the boot The Borax water would stop them. I alternated Epsom salt two tablespoons one day and borax to 2 tablespoons the next day. It worked once they were out of my feet everything changed. I always w o r e h
cow boy boots or any boots ,as I had to. The bugs can’t bite through boots. After this I found that if I put a half a cup of Arm & Hammer powder version laundry soap in my shoe and place it in a garbage bag twist the top tight like shake and bake and start shaking it and leave it for a 225 hours all the bugs were died in the shoes. And it would repel bugs it was a miracle I no longer had to wash my shoes ever again. The powder kills them dead but you can’t breathe the powder you have to do this all carefully and holding your breath. Because Arm & Hammer laundry soap is not a dust particle that you can breathe. I would usually do it in the bathroom where the fan was drawing upward from the bathroom fan and I would hold my breath as I put them in the bag and spun it tight and then shake it and set it down and walk away holding my breath. It worked like a champ. Then after that all I had to do was put two tablespoons of baking soda in the shoes everyday and no bugs would bother my feet it was a mirror. God bless you I hope this helps I still run into bugs once in awhile and still have to do these procedures when I do. They can be anywhere but they’re not everywhere thank God ! .. God bless you . my name is bill My email is John Doe at yahoo.com

  • They come to your house for no charge and give a free estimate.
  • Even if you decide not to use them, you get free professional advice.
  • Most pest control companies have never dealt with bird mites before. You need to use a bird mite specialist.

Follow this link to find a Qualified Local Exterminator near you.

Keep in mind that if bird mites are not treated correctly, even if the correct chemicals are used, they can become resistant to those chemicals. Don’t use a pest control company unless they have extensive experience treating bird mites.

Also, many of our readers have followed up with (or used outright) natural solutions and pesticide-free, such as on our Treatments Protocols page Follow this link to that page.
