Hi wanted to know if birds mites come for any bird variety?

We had a Doves nest in a flower pot on the back patio of our apartment inhabited by Doves. They had two hatchling cycles then left the nest.
Now my roommate is complaining of getting bit at night. Someone came and sprayed but they haven’t found any bugs. Can Doves be a host for this type of mite?

I have not been bitten, but I live in a separate room. How fast do these critters spread?

From what I have read, any type of bird can carry mites. We had sparrows nest in the soffit of our house that led to this infestation.

Keep in mind that if bird mites are not treated correctly, even if the correct chemicals are used, they can become resistant to those chemicals. Don’t use a pest control company unless they have extensive experience treating bird mites.
