I have used Permethrin. A few others as well. Most if not all.. kill on contact. After that, some have residual effects. Only these mites basically just go right through it like nothing is there. Permethrin is a spray that dissipates. Meaning it doesn’t stay and is biodegradable. It doesn’t layer or build up like some others. I am going to try SteriFab next. It kills on contact, and has sterilization properties. Disinfects. Borax in the washer. It’s an additive. I have an electric dryer which I found out doesn’t get as hot as a gas dryer. I’m trying to catch another mite so I can identify what type of mite. I’m not quick enough. The first one I got out of my eye after 2 days. It was stuck on a small piece of lint. That’s how I saw one. The Extension Office couldn’t do anything. I just think that the lady didn’t find it. I forgot to circle where I stuck it on the sticky board. Lots of other things were stuck to the board. I sat on it once in cutting out a pattern, plus my cat got nosy and got it stuck on his whiskers and fur. I use Isopropyl Alcohol 91%, but am going to switch back to 70% proof. Reason being.. the drying times. The more pure, the quicker it evaporates. I need to find out what type of mite I am dealing with. Some things work on some, but not on others. Gotta find out how to catch one that didn’t get stuck in my eye. That was sooo painful for a long time. Got bit.

That is what the doctor gave me for the itching. It doesn’t do much except moisturize after all the Isopropyl Alcohol I spray around to keep the mites at bay. I managed to get ahold of someone that can identify what the mites are that have moved in to my house. I think Bird Mites so far. I have two sticky boards full of different things. That being mites as well as fur from my curious cat of 18 years.. my sweat pants when I sat on one while cutting out a pattern. I’m trying to have someone take it over to the Nebraska Extension Office. It has connections with U.N.O. Hopefully they can identify which mite positively. Them form a way of eradicating the infestation. I am hoping I can get it to them by Friday. These little buggers go in every place. Eyes, Nose, Ears, Mouth, and the rest as well. Sick. Right now I have Vicks Vapor Rub smeared all over me. I have mites on me. I have a lot here. ..or it just seems that way. I found out that they gravitate towards a light in a dark room. That probably explains why so many in one place. They are not in my bedrooms, nor my kitchen. I still don’t know how I got them. I started getting bit around the time a new furnace was put in. Those two workman are the only two that have been in my house. Besides my Landlord. I don’t go many places.. so it’s not me. My poor cat. He’s strictly an indoor cat. Only been out once. Then no more. He got fleas from that one time. Had a hard time getting those off him. very long fur. Took him to a vet and got the drops for him. Problem solved/ I have never had mites before. I’m working on a way to lessen them. I do a lot of vacuuming. I hope that the college can help me out. Get me some help as well. Stay in touch.. I’ll let you know what I find out. It may take a while.. it’s not like I’m going to go anywhere. smh

I have tried Premertrin, Cyflurhrin, and Bifenthrin. All to no avail. I have had mites for three months now. Came about when my landlord had a new furnace put in. Many of the chemicals that is being used right now only seems to work when you are initially using it. I have found none of them work. Only works in making your wallet more thinner. So I’m back to what I was using. 70% to 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Sometimes I add Tea tree drops to it. I have yet to try adding Cedar or Eucalyptus oil. I put it in a spray bottle I used to mist hair when I was doing hair. I’m sure there are others that you can find that hold more. My back up is a empty Home Defense bottle. smh I know.. says not to use it for anything else and to dispose of properly. Sheesh.. it’s not like Imma be using it for anything like.. editable. It’s a spray bottle and it works.
In using the Alcohol.. I spray a barrier around me. Decent price for 91% at a good ole Walmart. Many times, I order online. I use a lot. I’m used to the odor as is my cat. I do lots of wash, lots of baths. Them thangs go everywhere on you. Yes.. those places as well. Everywhere is free range for those pests.
I’m calling my Landlord back up tomorrow. He’s going to have to help. This is still his house. I’m going back to the doctor Friday. I’m out of Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream 0.1%.
My sofa and sofa chair cushions are wrapped up in clear plastic bags sitting on my cold porch. As long as the temp. stays below 47 degrees.. the mites will die. I don’t have anything that can heat them to 150 degrees. Apologies.. got bit. So tired of all this. I have told very few people that I have mites. First thing they think of is Bed Bugs. I say, nope. None the less.. they all treat you like you got the plague. smh
Well.. I hope that this helps you out a little. I have an open play book. (football lang.)
