I’ve been using PY Aerosol Insecticide, Py-Bo Natural Pyrethrum Insecticidal Concentrate, and Insectigone Deltamethrin Concentrate for the last few months and I’m finally winning. One of these is natural pyrethrum and safer for humans but only has a short life in relation to killing the bugs. The other is artificial pyrethrum and has a longer residual effect. Unfortunately, I left it too long after the mites first invaded my home in 2017 before I started using chemicals and they took over big time. I have a chemical sensitivity, therefore the reluctance to use sprays, but the ones I’ve mentioned haven’t caused me too much bother. They’re certainly not as bad as the crawlies, as I call them.
I have no financial interest in the sale of these items, I get two of them from a place in Sydney called Easy Pest Supplies (by post) and Chris there was able to tell me what would get rid of the pests. The other I got from a rural supplies store, but Chris has a similar product. Apparently, you have to look at the instructions on the product and make sure that it is recommended for bird mites specifically.
I hope this helps someone else.
Cheers, G
